Flight instruments on a Raspberry Pi

§← All cases

A Raspberry Pi drives four simulated flight instruments on a screen: attitude indicator, airspeed indicator, altimeter and heading indicator. They respond to physical controls (joysticks and knobs) wired to the Pi's GPIO pins, following flight-dynamics models I tuned through testing.

A small Flask web page configures the simulation (instrument sensitivity, display options, input calibration), and the settings are saved in SQLite so they survive restarts. The instruments are drawn with Pygame, kept light enough to run smoothly on the Pi.
